All Inclusive New Year Holidays in Egypt: What You Really Get

One price, no sums at the bar and a countdown that is already paid for. All inclusive New Year holidays are popular for a reason, and Egypt does the idea in several styles. Here is how to compare them before you book.

What Does All Inclusive Really Mean in Egypt?

It usually covers meals, snacks and many drinks inside the resort. Some packages add watersports, kids’ clubs and evening shows.

The words are flexible, so read the fine print. A premium plan may include imported drinks, a la carte dinners and late-night snacks. A basic plan may stop at local drinks and a buffet.

For New Year’s Eve, ask a second question. Is the gala dinner part of the plan, or is it an extra supplement?

Which All Inclusive Style Fits Your Holiday?

Egypt offers three main styles. Compare them side by side.

Style What you get Best for
Red Sea resort Beach, pool, buffets, evening shows Sun and relaxation
Nile cruise (full board) Meals, guide, temple visits, onboard dinner Culture with comfort
Tour package Hotels, transfers, guides, some meals Seeing Egypt in one plan

A resort is simple and restful. A cruise adds sightseeing. A package gives you a full tour. Many travelers combine two of them, such as a cruise plus a beach week.

Field tip: Ask what the all inclusive plan excludes. Excursions, spa treatments and some drinks are common extras.

Where Are the Best Resort Areas?

Hurghada and El Gouna lead for variety. Beaches, marinas and restaurants are within easy reach, and day trips reach Luxor and Cairo.

Our guide to New Year’s Eve in Hurghada explains where to stay and how the evening works. Prefer a resort with reef access? Read New Year in Sharm El Sheikh, which also shows how a Hurghada base can add more sightseeing.

Can a Nile Cruise Count as All Inclusive?

In spirit, yes. A Nile ship typically includes accommodation, meals, guided visits and onboard entertainment.

A 3-night Aswan to Luxor cruise starts from $650. For a longer link between sea and river, our 7-day dahabiya cruise from Hurghada starts from $1,650.

Ask whether drinks are included. On many cruises they are paid separately. A clear answer saves a surprise at checkout.

Is a Full Tour Package a Better Value?

Often. A 9-day Egypt travel package with Cairo, the Nile and the Red Sea starts from $2,095, and a hotel, guides and transfers are included in the plan.

Value depends on what you use. If you will sightsee every day, a package beats a resort. If you plan to relax, a resort beats a package.

How Early Should You Book?

Earlier than you think. New Year’s Eve is the peak of the season, and the best all inclusive rooms go first.

Hold your dates as soon as you can, and ask for a cancellation window. If you wait, you risk higher prices and fewer room types. For a wider list of ideas, a seasonal overview from Jet2holidays shows how other providers frame Egypt in winter.

What Should You Check Before You Pay?

Read the plan, not the headline. Confirm these points in writing.

  • Meals, snacks and drinks included, and the hours they are served
  • Whether the New Year’s Eve gala is covered or charged separately
  • Transfers, taxes and resort fees
  • Cancellation and change terms

What Is There to Do Besides the Buffet?

Quite a lot. Most resorts run daily activities: aqua gym, beach volleyball, evening shows and kids’ clubs. Many offer diving or snorkelling lessons at an extra charge.

Plan one outing off the resort. A boat trip, a desert drive or a day in Luxor adds variety, and the all inclusive base makes the return evening easy. Pace yourself so that the countdown is a pleasure and not an endurance test.

How Do Families and Couples Choose Differently?

Families look for shallow beaches, clubs and relaxed dining. Couples look for quiet pools, adult sections and good restaurants.

Ask the resort which section suits you. A room far from the stage means a better night’s sleep after the gala. Our family New Year guide and romantic getaway plan help you decide.

Which Months and Days Are Best Value?

Just before and after December 31. The gala night itself is the most expensive, while January 2 to 5 often brings lower rates and calmer beaches.

If you can move by a day or two, ask for quotes on three date windows. A small change can save a meaningful amount, without hurting the trip.

All Inclusive New Year Holidays: Quick Answers

Is the New Year’s Eve gala included?

Sometimes. Many resorts charge a separate gala supplement, so ask before you pay.

Are alcoholic drinks part of the plan?

It depends on the resort and the plan. Premium plans tend to include more, so check the drink list.

Can I leave the resort for sightseeing?

Yes. Day trips from Hurghada reach Luxor and Cairo, and you can return to the resort the same evening or the next day.

Is all inclusive worth it for a couple?

For a relaxed week, yes. For a sightseeing trip, a package or a cruise is often better.
